Who this notice covers
This notice covers the 9DVR website and enquiries about its virtual reality experiences, events and custom development. For privacy enquiries, contact Stanton Govender at stanton@9dvr.co.za or 083 216 4255, and ask for your request to be directed to the Information Officer.
Information you provide
This website has no online account, payment checkout or contact form. When you choose to email, telephone or WhatsApp us, you may provide your name, contact details, organisation, event date, venue and enquiry. Please share only what is needed; do not send identity documents, financial credentials or sensitive health information with a general enquiry.
Why information is used
Enquiry information is used to reply, discuss suitable experiences, prepare quotations and arrange requested services. Relevant records may also be needed for accounting, legal obligations or resolving disputes. Processing must have an applicable lawful basis, such as steps towards a contract, a legal obligation, a legitimate interest or consent. Providing enquiry details is voluntary, but without relevant contact or event information we may be unable to assist.
Website connections and storage
The hosting service may process IP addresses, request times, browser information and requested pages to deliver and protect the website. The website code has no advertising pixels or analytics trackers. It stores only a motion preference in session storage. Google Fonts supplies the typefaces and receives connection information when fonts load.
Service providers and external platforms
Hosting, email and communications providers process information involved in their services. Clicking WhatsApp, TikTok, Google Maps or another external link takes you to a separate service with its own privacy terms. Information needed to arrange an event may be shared with authorised staff or service providers involved in that request. Cross-border processing must meet the applicable POPIA requirements; ask us for details relevant to your enquiry.
Retention and protection
Information should be kept only as long as required for its purpose, an applicable legal retention period or a dispute, then securely deleted or de-identified. You can ask about the retention period for your specific record. HTTPS protects website traffic in transit. No website or communications channel can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You may ask whether we hold your personal information, request access or correction, request deletion where applicable, object to qualifying processing, or withdraw consent for future consent-based processing. Legal retention duties and other lawful grounds may limit a deletion request. We may need proportionate proof of identity. Contact the privacy enquiry address above; please do not attach identity documents until a suitable verification method has been agreed.
Marketing, children and event photographs
A general enquiry is not blanket consent to electronic marketing. You may object to marketing at any time. A parent or guardian should handle enquiries involving children and avoid sending unnecessary details about a child. If you have a concern about an event photograph displayed here, identify the image and contact us so it can be reviewed.
Complaints and changes
You may raise concerns with us or directly with the Information Regulator of South Africa, which provides current complaint channels and forms. This notice may be updated when website features or processing practices change.
